Kochi, a walk into the natural bliss

Kochi, also known as Cochin, is one of the prettiest port states of India. With every so vibrant environment and culture, Kochi is sure to take away all the stress and give one a very enjoyable much-needed break. This coastal town has been given quite a few names of affection, Gateway to Kerala and Queen of the Arabian Sea being the popular two.  Kochi is also the first destination to arrive before entering Kerala and offers various activities suitable for one and all. Therefore, people also like calling the place; ‘God’s own backyard’ after Kerala is known as ‘God’s own country’.

One can enjoy the port area around Fort Kochi and can also opt for various fun and adventurous activities in the same beach. One can also satisfy their religious calling by visiting some of the temples with the beautiful architecture around the town as well. Sri Krishna Temple of Gurvayoor, Cheraman Mosque, and St. Francis Church are few of the most visited sites in this town. This place is heaven for all the nature buffs, one can enjoy the town area that has been set up on the banks of Fort Kochi or visit the Mangalavanam Bird sanctuary.

One of the places that one has to go while in Kochi is the Vypeen Island Zone. Another destination that is in close proximity to Kochi is Munnar. Munnar is known for its tea estates and its picturesque exotic views. It is a beautiful hill station that is surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna all around. It is the biggest tea plantation that happens in south India and is also blessed with amazing views and abundant natural beauty.

Munnar is divided into old Munnar and Munnar and the whole town is situated on the banks of Madupetti, Periavaru, and Nallathanni. One can enjoy the natural beauty of the place along with amazing tea and can also visit some of the national parks. One can easily reach here by hiring cabs from Kochi to Munnar.

Along with Munnar, one can also go to Wayanad, which is set amidst the Western Ghats of Kerala’s jungles. Wayanad is one of the best hill stations to go to while in Kerala and one can enjoy various activities like trekking, hiking, cycling, etc once in this place. One of the major attraction points for this place is the Chembra Peak which is the highest peak present in this city. People can climb this peak after taking due permission from the Forest office.
